“Take a simple idea and take it seriously.”
—Charlie Munger
I love this mental model, and I am gonna apply it to these 3 simple ideas for the remainder of 2026 (June to December)
1: [Personal] Shovel for Stocks Hype
Simple Idea: With the AI stocks hype in 2026, my thesis is that more people will get into buying stocks globally.
If Nvidia and TSMC benefit as the shovel of the AI boom, I believe there is also an ecosystem of shovels where the hyperscalers of the equivalent in stock investing are funds, institutional and retail investors.
My idea is to buy the “shovel” of this upcoming boom.
Here are some in different categories:
Exchanges and trading infrastructure:
ICE, CME, Nasdaq Inc, Hong Kong Exchanges, LSE Group, Deutsche Börse
Data and index providers:
MSCI, S&P Global, FactSet, Moody’s
Retail brokers:
HOOD, FUTU, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab
Asset managers:
BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR
Currently I own Hood, Futu, and Nasdaq. Still researching and considering the others.
Disclaimer: Not financial advice, do your own research.
2: [Business 1] Axcel AI Brain
Simple Idea: Get Claude to act as the company’s reviewer.
Currently I am running a marketing agency as a solo founder with full time staff, where a lot of reviews and feedback still need to go through me.
I am planning to have Claude Teams subscription and build many Claude skills so employees will check with Claude first as the reviewer before going to me for final review (if needed).
And for smaller clients, after checking with Claude, the staff can straight submit to client.
So Claude is the like CEO / AI brain with context, where I build the skill, the employee feeds it context, Claude review by pulling the skill and read the submission before generating the feedback.
3: [Business 2] HiDoctor Healthcare Content Format
Simple Idea: Make healthcare content interesting with a consistent format.
Short video healthcare content with a consistent format that doesn’t rely on the same doctor’s face for the brand.
Build a brand in healthcare like how KLFoodie do for food, Malaysianpaygap for corporate salary, The Edge for business etc.
When faces rotate but format stays, the format becomes the brand. A doctor leaves, the brand survives. A doctor goes viral, the brand absorbs it.
The key here is to have a format that interesting enough since healthcare is typically a dry topic vs something more exciting like food.
Conclusion
These are the 3 simple ideas to take seriously for the remainder of 2026!
